“Finding humor in the daily lived experience helps me maintain a studio practice,” says Andrew Kosten. “I find working to be a way of processing complex issues and problem solving.”
For 20 years, Andrew has been creating playful, ironic, humorous pieces. “My work exhibits a satirical fascination with the comically bizarre and often dabbles in sociopolitical and historical contexts.
“I work predominantly in the medium of printmaking and drawing, specifically etching and aluminum plate lithography. Ideas are often developed and explored in sketchbooks before I invest in a final project. History, current events and daily observations often direct the content in my work.”
