New to Artclectic
“A child of the 70s, I was raised on crafts and handwork,” says Barbara Danger. “In college I added art history and graphic design and expanded my art making to include more painting and mixed media.
“In a world that moves at the speed of light, filled with flashing memes, videos and news bytes, my work evolves at a slow and methodical pace. My pieces are colorful, shiny and tactile, sometimes whimsical, sometimes melancholy and usually made from the broken pieces that others discard. Broken glass, sticks, plastic, record albums, old pencils, and other found objects are combined with shiny glass beads and paint to create new stories.”
Procrastination - it's my most expensive hobby.
Judy Chicago - she weaves amazing narratives through mixed media art - telling her story and at the same time, the story of the female experience.
"Eat me" (on a bigger than life beaded pear), conjuring up images of "Alice in Wonderland," a vulgar saying, and the consumption of art as a commodity at the same time.
