Barry Noland describes his work as compositional, unconventional, and painterly. “Historically, with non-human subjects, I am attracted to unconventional beauty. I do actively seek out such subjects when possible.”
Self-trained, Barry works on his art when the mood hits him. “I do go out seeking photographic subjects -- simpler for practice or more dramatic for possible competition or exhibit purposes.”
“The photograph is taken and analyzed. Since I emphasize composition over technique, most images need some level of photo editing. I try to leave non-lighting related edits to a minimum since I don't want to cross-over to being a digital artist.”
