Debe Dohrer is inspired by color, texture, and patterns.
“I start with unique elements - beads, leather, chain, bone, and literally have no idea what I am going to create. I just know that if the element speaks to me, I will be able to design with consistency and cohesiveness,” she says. With a background in fashion and almost four decades as a professional image consultant, Debe knows how to create eclectic and unexpected jewelry.
“Ninety-eight percent of my designs are now one of a kind. I am using beads that are centuries old and have a history. I work with a gentleman from Spain who originally is from Mali, so he directs me to elements that he knows will appeal to me.”
To wake up every day with joy and the knowledge that I get to create and design.
My favorite trip was to San Miguel de Allende. That trip reiterated the beauty of wabi sabi, the Japanese art of imperfection. There is such beauty in imperfection.
I know, right?
