New to Artclectic
“I am inspired by the compositions and colors found in nature as well as the universal human desire for beauty and calm,” says Faith Bullard. “Interior design, for this reason, also inspires me as it serves as a seamless way to discover everyday beauty in the home, our primary sanctuary.”
She incorporates the use of raw canvas, raw birch wood, resin, watercolor, ink, and acrylic paint in her paintings.
“The pieces I will be bringing to Artclectic are an exploration of deconstructing and reconstructing my spirituality while holding onto hope and softness through the process. With my use of transparent painting mediums and reflective resin, these pieces are reminiscent of stained glass. A common theme you will find throughout my work is strong focus on color and composition - leaving the viewer with a feeling of serenity and peace of mind.”
Probably a series of sweaters I painted that explored the relation of pulling at a thread of your faith/spirituality and trusting that the whole sweater won’t unravel. I named these my “faith sweaters” and I love the double meaning of the name!
I lived in Santa Cruz, California for three years which is when I started honing my skills of composition and focus on color. The wild California coast has always been a huge influence in my work.
Probably Georgia O’Keeffe - mainly because her home/studio in New Mexico is what dreams are made of! And her love of nature inspired her practice and her environment in which she created.
