“My work is made of precious metals and precious stones so it will last through the ages and can be handed down to future generations,” explains Gabrielle Friedman. “I utilize conflict free cut and raw diamonds, tourmaline, sapphire and opal amongst other stones, and have established a style that is simultaneously raw and elegant by combining precious stones with precious metal that is hand carved.”
She’s inspired by nature, primitive and ethnic forms and old world processes. “I use old world processes and make all components by hand. You are purchasing a piece of art with both history (because I recycle a lot of my gold) and longevity.”
"Mediterranean Nights" -- It’s a piece I did that reminded me of being in Greece and I didn’t have to think of what to name it. I love so many artists and definitely don’t have a favorite. The art I love at any given moment depends on my mood and I adore visual art, music arts and food arts! I could never choose a favorite! Modigliani, Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat, the South African artist Irma Stern, and Pierre-Marie Brisson are a few of my favorites though.
