Jim Weaver
Jim Weaver
Florence,
AL
Medium:
Painting Using boards, canvas, and mostly Behr house paint, Jim Weaver brings to life his memories of growing up in the 1940s and 1950s.
“I want my paintings to show people how happy things could be, how happy things were when I was growing up. And, they still can be the same way,” explains Jim.
His cheerful, colorful paintings are simple, but unique. You’ll often see his childhood dog, Cracker, show up in his paintings.
This self-taught folk artist began painting 20 years ago at the age of 60. “I’ll keep painting until the day I die. I just enjoy doing it.”
