“Being a fully committed painter you can find me in my studio each and every day,” says Jude Remedios. “And if we're on the road it's not beyond me to set up a temporary studio anytime, anywhere. The shapes, colors and movement in my environment (both rural and urban) have always inspired me to head to my studio full of wonder...what if I tried to create something like this? Or that?"
Now a working artist for 20 years, Jude started as a full time art instructor at middle schools in Alberta, “which was a most rewarding experience.”
Jude works with many types of acrylic media including paints, inks, glazes, markers, pencils and crayons. “Rarely do I use a paint brush. Instead, I prefer to use different types of palette knives so I can swipe, drip, scrape and splash paint onto stretch canvases. Once the palette knife layers are dry, the real art begins as I mark up the canvas with images loosely resembling urban environments.”
