“My abstract pieces are created from my heart and are designed to fill the viewer's heart with joy,” says Jude Remedios. “As a former art teacher, I have been painting professionally for over 20 years. I am a fully committed painter and love to create every day.”
Jude uses palette knives and acrylic paint to swipe, drip, scrape and splash to create finished paintings that are described as a marriage of mindful free expression and thoughtful restraint.
“My inspiration comes from nature's colors, shapes, and textures,” she explains. “My one-of-a-kind paintings are created by trusting my intuition and striving to be bold.”
By nature I'm a very frugal person. I love the challenge of living (and painting) on a 'shoe string' and I can't pass up a good bargain, which is actually is my greatest thrill. However, if I wanted to splurge, I suppose it would be traveling the world.
Currently I'm obsessed with Jean-Michel Basquiat. I love his use of pure color and childlike descriptive marks and illustrations.
"Blue Moon Over Mulberry Street" has to be one of my all-time favorite titles because its abstracted images and color palette evoke the good feelings that one might get from an evening stroll through a small town.
