Jude Remedios paints minimalist floral pieces on canvas using ink and liquid watercolor. With nature as her source of inspiration, Jude's soft lines and washes create a sense of peace and serenity.
“I'm tremendously inspired by the color, composition and imagery of amateur travel videos posted to YouTube,” Jude says. “These videos always manage to motivate me so much that I find myself rushing to get to the studio!
“My unique, large contemporary florals feature a minimalist design with corresponding color schemes that are perfect for today's modern tastes.”
My new work is a perfect fit for this year's theme. REDUCE: My work is minimalist, designed to create beauty by applying very little actual paint. REUSE: l use and re-use paint bucket water as the main form of my 'color stain'. RECYCLE: Whenever possible I recycle old canvas stretcher bars and use them to make my own new, re-stretched canvases.
Definitely Cy Twombly, the American abstract painter. I love his free-scribbled floral creations and beautiful color palette.
Definitely Florence, Italy where my family and I were deeply moved by the amazing paintings created by the Renaissance Masters, as well as all of the overwhelming and stunning architecture.
