“I’m inspired by many things, but mostly the desire to create art that uplifts women,” says Lizzy Love. “I love pattern, color play, interior design, and the artistic process overall.”
Layered in pattern, color blocking, and contrast, her paintings are rooted in the fundamentals of fashion while also representing positive qualities that Lizzy has been embracing as a new mother: community, femininity, and reverence.
“I draw from strong poses, abstract them, and collage with color swatches and pattern to create my composition before applying it to canvas with acrylic paint, brushes, and pallet knife. I enjoy each step of the process and I'm always working on about five pieces at a time.”
This changes often, but I love the title of a piece I will be showing at Artclectic, “They Lift Each Other Up." This piece has two figures and I love the idea that they lift each other up, whether it be a mother/daughter, sister/sister, friend/friend, I think women lifting each other up is hugely important.
I love the work of Emily Leonard. Her pieces just move me.
Getting regular massages, especially as a painter of large scale works I feel it an important luxury to keep loose!
