New to Artclectic
Ruth Crowe’s career has run the gamut. After earning an Art Education degree, she proceeded to join the US Army, then worked as a Los Angeles police officer, collegiate softball coach, and business owner before becoming a full time artist in 2014 – at the age of 55.
“I get inspired by life, events, politics, human emotions,” says Ruth. “I generally start with either a title in mind and work to find the subject OR I start with a subject and create a piece from that starting point. I search for vintage photos of people that have a story to tell in their faces - and then create my own story for them or about them.
“My pieces try to capture some human emotion that evokes thought in the viewer. Each viewer might have a different response.”
When I get to celebrate with my tribe of loved ones after an important art event where I had some success either selling my art or just sharing my art. That celebration would include great food and drink, laughter, and of course dancing! I have found that success and happiness is ONLY enjoyed with others who love you and embrace you - regardless of what that moment represents.
Best lived life from Day 1 and only getting better
My favorite journey is to a place I had not foreseen in my planning along the way but offers abundant gifts and enlightenment. And generally more satisfying than other 'planned' destinations.
