Susan Kinsella is a retired emergency physician. “The experiences caring for others in crisis were both difficult and exciting, filled with joy and despair, extreme contradictions that dramatically impact my artistic approach,” she explains.
“Painting provides balance in my life and is a working meditation. I often describe my work as the absolute absence of chaos and that is exactly what everyone needs right now. My goal as a human being and artist has always been to seek beauty and light, stillness and peace, tranquility and calm....and the radiance of hope.”
Beginning with an inspiration, Susan “sketches the subject which is essential for me to achieve the perspective I ‘see’. Painting the background is extremely important to me. I want the color and the shadows and the horizon to be perfect and to convey the mood I'm attempting to create.”
Wow!!! Painting in my studio with my pup happily snoring on his bed followed by a great meal and great wine shared with those I love!
In the time of covid, the greatest extravagance is going to QT for a fountain diet coke. Prior to covid, I loved travel to wonderful places.
I would love to be an extrovert but, alas, am an introvert.
