“I woke up one morning with an overwhelming urge to paint,” says Christina Habibi. Almost 30 years later, she is still creating.
Christina uses acrylic, oil, graphite, and text on canvas and paper. She builds through layering, gesture, and revision, balancing physical mark-making with intuitive language.
“I’m inspired by the act of painting itself, gesture, material, and the unexpected. The work develops through process rather than a predetermined idea. My paintings mirror the way I experience the world, layered, uncertain, and always changing.”

Right here right now is always the most inspirational place, I’m all about the spontaneous moment.
Titles of works can be descriptive or clever or totally unrelated. What’s your favorite title of a piece you’ve named?
My favorite title is always the title of my newest painting. It's usually my favorite painting too.
