Mixed Media 2D Nathaniel Mather was a working musician in Los Angeles, a drummer, and wanted more personal freedom to create. Inspired by his relationship with God, he turned to another form of art. “He gave me the desire to create and when I paint, I feel his Joy. My goal as an artist is to pass along that joy to the viewer.”
Now a working artist for more than 40 years, Nathaniel starts each painting with color and line which allows the markings to follow their own story adding and subtracting, layer by layer. “The process mirrors how I experience life day by day. Bit by bit.”

Give yourself grace, experiment with different mediums and have fun. Seek out other artists for inspiration and support.
