Mixed Media 2D “I enjoy experimenting with new techniques and mediums that challenge me,” says Sarah Mason. “This year I have a new series that includes oil! I am enjoying the process!”
Sarah stains paper with black tea along with modeling paste for texture then uses watercolor, acrylic, gouache, and charcoal with brushes and knives to create botanicals, landscapes, and abstracts.
Nature, film and emotional experiences inspire Sarah to create. “Music is also a big part of my creativity.”

I have figured out how to use paint water to create new colors. That sounds crazy, but the color that settles to the bottom of my paint water is usually a cool color! Lol
If you could be any artist in the world, who would you choose to be?
Probably an artist who has mastered realism.
In terms of your art, where is the most inspirational place you've ever been?
Anywhere in the mountains!
