Alter Images Art by Jason Brueck
Jason Brueck
Nashville, TN
Medium:
Digital Art

“I love taking a concept, idea or story and manifesting it as an image,” says Jason. “I enjoy putting a counterbalance of competing themes, elements or subject matter in the same image. The goal is to take things that seemingly don’t go together and create a cohesive, thought provoking, conversation inducing piece of work.”

Jason creates surrealistic imagery in a variety of styles, using a combination of personal and found imagery, creating its own unique theme. His materials range from a DSLR camera and Photoshop to archival paper, a variety of mixed media including paints, gold leaf, diamond dust, ink and wax to a large format printer and custom frames.

“(I want people to see) that there is a story behind a lot of my work. Thought and humor are two elements I’m always trying to incorporate into my pieces. At the end of the day, it’s about creating artwork that serves as a conversation piece.”

Describe your dream art project.

Working with hotels, bands, corporate clients that fit your vibe, brand and style have been some of my favorite projects over the years and I hope to do more in the years to come.

In terms of your art, where is the most inspirational place you’ve ever been?

Art Basel in Miami where I’ve done a few pop up events over the years and SoHo New York where I used to sell on the street.

Titles of works can be descriptive or clever or totally unrelated. What’s your favorite title of a piece you’ve named?

"Astronut" (a donut themed astronaut), "Bombshell" (a silhouette of a bombshell made out of thousands of pin up girls aka “bombshells”. "Take the Monet & Run" (an astronaut walking out Monet’s "Water Lilly Garden", with the same painting under his arm.
