Andrew has been an artist for 24 years, gaining inspiration from artist friends. “And the freedom was alluring,” he adds.
“I start my pieces with an original sketch. Then using a stitch program as a tool, I plot the path of the sewing machine needle by placing each and every stitch, creating texture with stitch direction.”
What is the most important thing Andrew wants viewers to take away from his art? “I want to see them smile.”
My garden and my travels. A number of years ago I vacationed in Copenhagen. It was a treat for inspiration and I spent hours sketching in the city parks.
"Guardian Angel". One of my cats had just died so I created a piece about him. It's the story of how we become a guardian angel when we adopt a rescue animal and how they become our guardian angel when they die.
