“My art is designed to start a story and the viewer may feel inspired to finish the story,” says Barbara. “Everyone has a story to tell and their story is very important. I hope my art will inspire, elevate, educate, and empower the art viewers.”
As a narrative artist, Barbara weaves a story around her art utilizing paper, textiles, and found objects. Her style is bold, textural, gestural, and expressive with a colorful and vibrant palette.
Barbara has loved the idea of art-making since the age of 7. Art is well integrated in all aspects of her life. As a self-taught artist, she enjoys sharing her artistic skills with others, especially older adults and children.

My dream art project is to create more artistic works with 2D and 3D mixed media in sculptures and collage with metals and clay incorporated.
I enjoy going to the art museums because of the vastness and diversity of the art world.
My favorite title of a piece is Mother Pearl - the Change Maker. This piece allowed me to create a 3D mixed media piece which encourages many to be a positive change maker. It encourages one to step up and step out.
