"The most important thing I want viewers to take away from my art is a deeper reflection on identity, power, and the stories behind beauty," says Carlos. "I aim to challenge traditional narratives by reimagining classical beauty standards and highlighting marginalized voices. My hope is that my work sparks curiosity and dialogue, encouraging viewers to see beyond the surface and rethink how histories and identities are represented."
Carlos uses watercolor, acrylic, and oil to create his art. "I often combine traditional painting techniques with contemporary tools, which allows me to blend historical references with a modern aesthetic. My choice of materials varies depending on the concept I’m exploring, but I’m consistently drawn to mediums that support fine detail—and, depending on the series, offer rich texture and vibrant color."
