“Creating has been my favorite thing to do since I can remember,” says Ellen. “Color makes me happy, making things makes me happy. I know my mom must have gotten tired of hearing, ‘mom, what can I make?’.”
For 35+ years, Ellen has emersed herself in all things art. “The subjects of my artwork may vary, yet the enduring theme remains the simple moments that ignite my inspiration.
“My impressionistic approach encourages viewers to engage with the painting, using their imagination to complete the narrative. It is my sincere hope that my creations evoke the same joy in the viewer that inspired their conception.”
I want them to immerse themselves in this experience and evoke deep emotions—whether it’s joy, inspiration, nostalgia, peace, or longing.
I think it would be to spend a month in Giverny at Claude Monet's studio and garden, painting anything and everything!
It's a toss-up between Italy and Ireland. Everything about both of those places is magical and inspiring to me. I like the history that is evident in the little towns and villages. Due to the landscape and culture differences, even the most insignificant things are inspiring.
