New to Artclectic
“I love the fashion and personality of iconic musicians,” says Jacob Olds. “Their collaborations with designers and photographers are very influential to my art.”
He has created two collections, Animals and Eye-cons. Both are of iconic musicians. “The Animals I carefully consider, deciding which one goes with a particular artist's personality and the era of the artist's fashion,” Jacob explains.
“The Eye-cons are pen and ink portraits of musicians with only one eye drawn in. Being a musician myself, I know well that musicians have to sleep with one eye open to make it in the music industry. Both of the collections are meant to start conversation, both with the artist, and among those who see them.”
My greatest extravagance is probably time. I take lots of time to pay attention to detail in my art. Time is my most valuable commodity.
The funny thing is that I did switch from a music, or audible medium, to fine art, or a visual medium.
I have a big piece of Prince as an ibex goat that I named "The G.O.A.T.", because he is the Greatest Of All Time. I also have an Eye-con piece of Dolly Parton with her huge hair called "Closer to God" after one of her famous quotes, "The higher the hair, the closer to God."
