Jim Sherraden has been a local printmaker with a strong history in letterpress for more than forty years. His key influence is the balance of design found in nature.
“After a successful multi-decade tenure at Hatch Show Print, knowing the shop was on sound fiscal and creative ground, I returned to my original passion of creating my own artwork,” says Jim. “For the last thirteen years I’ve been creating the wooden and paper quilt series created from my own carvings, cut and colored.”
Yes. Once the "wooden quilts" are created, I have "that which falls to the floor". Unused pieces of printed wood and linocurls. From these "scraps" I make the paper quilts.
The Netherlands, Norway, and Portugal for their art and museums I viewed much younger in life, and for (Portugal) the tile designs.
And yes the answer may change tomorrow but for today, an early cave-dwelling inhabitant, marveling at the artwork just applied to the inner wall.
