“I have been painting professionally for over a decade,” says Lauren Ossolinski. “I work in oils and love to paint a variety of subjects from plein air landscapes and beachscapes to florals and loose figures. My style is loose brushwork, thick paint strokes and bright expressive colors.
“I love to paint plain air – outside – when the weather is nice,” says Lauren. “But I do more work in the studio, working from photo reference and small sketches to create larger pieces.”
She considers it her greatest achievement to be a working artist. “I know a lot of talented people who gave up painting as anything more than a hobby -- and I feel really surprised still to be able to sell my work.”
My faves are always song lyrics — "All the Single Ladies" (the painting was a bunch of chickens) hands down is my fave!
Henri Matisse or Joan Mitchell because of their work with color and abstracting the form. And their unique voice.
