Travel, color, museums, and other artists all inspire Lauren Ossolinski.
“I love to paint plain air – outside – when the weather is nice,” says Lauren, a working artist for 15 years. “But I do more work in the studio, working from photo reference and small sketches to create larger pieces. My style is loose brushwork, thick paint strokes and bright expressive colors.”
Lauren’s colorful, joyful pieces include a variety of subjects from plein air landscapes and beachscapes to florals and loose figures. “I never get tired of painting marsh landscapes!!”
She considers it her greatest achievement to be a working artist. “I know a lot of talented people who gave up painting as anything more than a hobby -- and I feel really surprised still to be able to sell my work.”
Nothing great was ever done without enthusiasm.
