In terms of your art, where is the most inspirational place you’ve ever been? Why?
Seeing the etchings of Durer, Carracci, and Van Dyck at the The Des Moines Art Center was a watershed moment for me. After hundreds of years, they still stand as gold standards of detail and precision, as well as reminders of what is possible with simple, traditional instruments.
