New to Artclectic
“I was inspired by a 12-year-old neighbor who encouraged me to take my first art class, reminding me that creativity doesn’t require perfection,” says Kelly. “I began with painting but found my true voice in sculptural work, which I’ve developed as a self-taught artist over the years.”
Her sculptures are primarily made from fabric and plaster. Kelly hand-sculpts each form, building texture and structure through layers. The finished pieces are often painted and may include subtle gilded elements to add depth and contrast.
“I hope my work invites viewers to pause—to experience beauty, texture, and form in a way that feels both grounded and elevated. I want them to be drawn into the movement and layered depth of each piece—sculptures that command attention and serve as distinctive statement pieces within a space.”
My dream art project would be creating a large-scale installation for a corporate space—something immersive and expressive, with multiple pieces working together in one location. I’d love the opportunity to transform a space with sculptural forms that bring both beauty and a sense of presence to those who pass through it each day.
My inspiration comes less from a single place and more from the beauty I encounter in everyday life—especially through the flowers I work with as a floral designer. While my sculptures aren’t modeled after specific blooms, they grow organically, shaped by the textures, forms, and quiet rhythms I observe in nature.
Naming my work is often the hardest part for me—words aren’t really my gift. I simply love the creative process. But one of my favorite titles is “Posey”, named after my husband’s grandmother. It feels sweet and nostalgic, and suits the spirit of the piece—a small, gathered bloom full of charm.
